I've spent nine years writing about Canadian debt relief, and for the last two of those years, that work lived at CollectorHQ.ca. As of this month, it's DebtNorth.ca instead. Same site, same articles, same me — just a name I finally got around to fixing.
Here's the honest reason: "CollectorHQ" was a bad name for what this actually is. Every time I told someone the name, I'd watch them do the mental double-take — wait, is this a debt collection agency?
Are you the guy calling people about their overdue Visa bill? It's the opposite. This site exists to help people understand their options when a debt collector is calling them. The name was working against the whole point.
There's also a more mundane problem: there's a completely unrelated trading-card and memorabilia company that also goes by CollectorHQ. Different industry, no relation, but it meant search results and social handles were a mess from day one.
DebtNorth says what it is. Canadian. About debt. Done.
Nothing else changed. Same free calculators, same Licensed Insolvency Trustee directory, same editorial rules I laid out when I started this — no LIT pays for placement, I disclose every affiliate relationship, and I say so when I don't know something. If you've been reading here or over on the main site for a while, you're not losing anything. Old CollectorHQ.ca links redirect automatically.
